We've been aligning optics since before it was called "active alignment."
AIC was founded in 2016, but our engineering team's history in precision alignment goes back more than two decades — through the notebook-camera boom, the automotive-camera wave, and now AR optics and micro-LED.
01 — Who we are
Custom optical-alignment and assembly equipment, engineered per product.
Active Insight Corporation is a Taiwan-based designer and builder of custom optical-alignment and assembly equipment. We serve manufacturers of camera modules, AR optical engines and waveguides, micro-LED displays, and precision photonics. Because nearly every machine we ship is engineered for one customer's product, our work is confidential by default — we never disclose customer identities. Including, one day, yours.

02 — What we're good at
Six disciplines, one team, one system.
When a machine drifts out of spec, the symptom rarely tells you which discipline failed — and when the disciplines are split across vendors, problems bounce between the seams. We don't have seams: optics, mechanics, electrical control, software, algorithms, and process are one team, from spec to debug.

"Aligned" is defined by light. We design our own collimators, targets, and measurement optics, so MTF, focus, and optical axis become quantified pass/fail criteria.

Sub-micron mechanical design. Alignment stages, fixtures, structural rigidity, and thermal stability are engineered by one team — sub-micron repeatability at full production takt.

Real-time control of multi-axis motion, I/O, and sensor signals. Servo tuning, timing, and safety loops are owned by one team, so sub-micron motion commands execute faithfully at line speed.

Recipes, traceability, line integration. Multi-product recipes, per-unit build history, and MES connectivity — alignment data stays traceable through ramp.

Vision recognition and alignment-convergence algorithms. From feature extraction and pose solving to convergence strategy — every unit, every step gated by live data.

Dispensing, UV curing, and post-bond verification as one integrated process. From adhesive behavior and cure-shrink compensation to tolerance budgeting, alignment accuracy is protected all the way to the finished part.
03 — How we work
We start from your product spec, not from a catalog.
A typical engagement moves from feasibility study (your samples, our lab, a written report with data) to machine design review, build and factory acceptance test — witnessed live or remote — then installation, ramp support, and mass production. You see data at every gate before you commit to the next one.

04 — Talk to AIC

Tell us the product, the accuracy you need, and the takt time you are working to. We will come back on whether it can be built and roughly how. Where we are not sure, we will say so. A feasibility study, a quotation, or just a question about direction: any of those is a fine place to start.
